NINE IMPERIAL TERRACE

Natural warmth, with a sharper edge

In Nine Imperial Terrace, white oak meets metallic finishes in an interior built on contrast. Designed by Liang Ruixue of Micro Interior Design Chongqing, the 300-square-metre residence pairs the softness and visible grain of timber with cooler, more reflective surfaces, giving an otherwise restrained palette a distinctly contemporary edge.

The strength of the project lies in how these two materials are allowed to behave differently. White oak brings texture, warmth and natural variation; metallic paint introduces definition and a subtle change in light. Together, they create depth without the need for decorative excess.

For the custom woodwork, TREGAZZE’s Chongqing team turns that contrast into detail. Timber surfaces, cabinetry and metallic accents are resolved as part of the same composition, with changes in finish used to articulate volumes, edges and functional elements. The effect is controlled rather than seamless: each material retains its identity while contributing to the larger architectural language.

This balance gives Nine Imperial Terrace its character. Natural materials soften the geometry; metallic surfaces sharpen it. The result is a measured, contemporary interior where sophistication comes from contrast, proportion and finish—not ornament.

Short Version

Nine Imperial Terrace sets the natural grain of white oak against the cooler precision of metallic finishes. Across the 300 m² residence, TREGAZZE turns this contrast into a refined language of cabinetry, surfaces and detail—giving the interior warmth where it needs it, and a sharper architectural edge where it counts.
