At 3,200 square metres, consistency becomes a design challenge in itself. Tianjing 28 Mansions is an expansive private residence conceived by Liu Zengshen of Zonghao Design, bringing architecture, interiors and landscape together within a single residential experience.
The project combines bespoke elements with furniture by Poliform, Cassina and La-Z-Boy, alongside Novacolor decorative finishes and a dedicated landscape scheme. Within this layered environment, TREGAZZE was responsible for the custom woodwork across the entire residence, giving continuity to spaces that vary significantly in scale, function and atmosphere.
At this scale, bespoke woodwork is as much about coordination as it is about individual detail. Large architectural surfaces, cabinetry and custom-made elements need to read as part of one system while responding to the specific requirements of each room. The result is an interior where timber provides a quieter counterpoint to the architecture, furniture and specialist finishes, connecting the different areas without imposing a single visual gesture.
Tianjing 28 Mansions demonstrates TREGAZZE’s capacity to operate at residential scale without losing control of the detail, translating an ambitious interior concept into a coherent custom woodwork programme across 3,200 m².
